Proteins are essential for life, driving cellular functions from transport to signaling. Their dysfunction can cause diseases like cancer, metabolic disorders, and neurodegeneration. Beyond their biological roles, proteins serve as biomarkers for diagnostics, drug targets for therapy, and are transforming pharmaceuticals and sustainable biotechnology through engineering and design.
Our research focuses on the molecular biophysics of proteins, investigating their function, dynamics, and interactions, particularly in the context of human health and disease. We integrate physical and life science approaches, employing cutting-edge biophysical techniques such as microfluidics, single-molecule methods, and advanced optical and microscopy tools to uncover fundamental protein mechanisms.
Our vision is to advance the molecular understanding of proteins to drive innovations in biophysics, biomedicine, biotechnology.
